The Green Dot Certification main objective is for companies to undertake the responsibility to recover and recycle all packaging materials that is placed into the local market. This is a need created as a result of harmonization with the EU and more specifically by the Directive 94/62/EU on Packaging and Packaging Waste.
ipH is one of the first companies in Cyprus to receive full Green Dot certification in line with the Values of the company of respect and care for the environment in which we live and work. |
The Green Dot is the trade mark. Placing The Green Dot on packaging means that the packaging company pays a financial amount to the packaging recovery organization for take-back, sorting and recovery of packaging in accordance to Directive 94/62/EC.

According to the Accreditation, the System should by 01/08/2007:

According also to the Law, until the 31st of December 2012 the Company should accomplish the following quantitative targets for its shareholders and members:
- recover or incinerate in waste incineration facilities for energy recovery, at least 60% of the weight of packaging waste,

recycle between 55% as a minimum and 80% as a maximum of the weight of the packaging waste, and
-
recycle, the following materials that are included in packaging waste:

60% of the weight of glass
-
60% of the weight for paper and cardboard
-
50% of the weight of metal
-
22,5% of the weight of plastic, taking under consideration material which can be recycled into plastic
-
15% of the weight of wood. |
